The metagenomics component of the Zebrafish Microbiome Project aims to collect shotgun genomic DNA sequences from microbial communities associated with the zebrafish, Danio rerio. This will lead to an understanding of the molecular pathways and functional capabilities in microbial communities associated with this important model organism, as well as the changes that occurr in concert with changes in host status.
