Sequencing of switchgrass under alkali stress

We investigated two distinct switchgrass genotypes, alkali-resistant genotype Alamo and alkali-sensitive genotype AM-314/MS-155. During a 24 h alkali exposure (1:9 Na2CO3 and NaHCO3, with Na+ at 150 mM ), we selected three time points (0h, 6h and 24h) with obvious physiological changes for a comparative transcriptomics. On the basis of the results, the molecular regulatory network of switchgrass responding to alkali stress was preliminarily constructed, which also provided us with a better clue to understand the saline-alkali tolerance mechanism of switchgrass.
