Vocalizations from hearing and deaf Egyptian fruit-bats (Rousettus Egyptiacus)

Current Biology. 2024<br><br><i>Annotations of vocalizations in the database</i><br>The database contains vocalizations from both male and female adult (around 3-4 years old) Egyptian fruit-bats. Two males and three females were deaf while two males and three females had normal hearing (see publication for details on animals). Each vocalization or sequence of vocalizations is saved as two wav files corresponding to a recording from an ambient microphone and a recording from a piezo sensor (audiologger) located against the throat of the individual (see publication for recording details). The name of each file indicates the sex and number of the individual (Sx), the hearing status of the individual (hearing = H, deaf = D), the recording date (yymmdd) and time (HHMM), the vocalization identification number (#) and the source of recording (Source: microphone = Mic, audiologger = AL) using the following scheme:<br>Sx_H_yymmdd_HHMM_#_Source.wav<br>Example: F1_D_200123_0958_6_AL.wav<br>The identification of individuals is the same as in the above cited publication.<br><i>Contact</i><br>Julie E Elie: [e-mail]<br>Michael M Yartsev: [e-mail]<br><br>
