Genome_assembly_of_Cercopithifilaria_johnstoni

Cercopithifilaria johnstoni is a filarial nematode that is transmitted by hard ticks (Ixodidae) to infect a broad range of native Australian murid and marsupial hosts. We generated Illumina MiSeq whole genome sequencing data from a single adult female parasite collected from the Australian bush rat Rattus fuscipes with the aim to generate a draft genome assembly of C. johnstoni. These data represent the first genomics data from the Cercopithifilaria genus, and will be useful for comparative analyses particularly with other filarial pathogens.
