The miRNA expression profile of p53 isoforms

p53 gene is one of the most frequently altered gene in human cancers. It has 12 isoforms, out of which Δ40p53 is the only translational isoform of p53. p53 is already known to regulate a number of cellular RNAs, however the regulation by Δ40p53 has not been studied much. Among the cellular RNAs, non-coding RNAs have gained a lot of importance because of its ability to regulate both at the level of transcription and translation. Therefore, in this study primarily we are trying to look into a basket of miRNAs which might be uniquely regulated by Δ40p53 and also by p53 or a combination of both the isoforms.
