Genotype-Accession Numbers

We acquired publicly accessible raw mtDNA sequencing data and genotypes from previously published research on E. granulosus s.l. from the GenBank repository. Using careful criteria, we verified the genotype and species from the information we obtained directly from the sequence "description" and verified these details by reviewing the literature. The sequences used in this study included the cox1 gene and complete and incomplete mtDNA. We rationalized our choice by pointing out that these are the most common sequence information types for E. granulosus s.l. and by evaluating the ability of ML algorithms to handle sequences of varying lengths, identifying patterns and similarities despite size inequalities.
