DevOps adoption among software developers globally 2017-2018

As of 2018, only nine percent of technology professionals responsible for the development and quality of web and mobile applications stated that they had not adopted DevOps and had no plans to do so. Seventeen percent of respondents stated that their company had fully embraced DevOps, a growing practice in the software field. What is DevOps? DevOps is essentially a way of streamlining the processes of software development through practices and applications that increase coordination among development teams. As application software becomes increasingly common in businesses of all types, an increasing share of developers are adopting DevOps practices such as agile development and continuous integration. These practices, along with a host of others, serve to better integrate software developers with each other, as well as ensure that their work is focused on their company’s primary business objectives. A 2016 survey of IT leaders based in Europe found that a lack of time to automate all the tasks they wanted to was one of the most pressing challenges related to the implementation of a DevOps approach.
