Shipboard sea bird and ancillary marine mammal sightings, April-Sept 2001 and 2002, Continental Margin Western Antarctic Peninsula, GLOBEC

Day and night shipboard sightings/counts of birds and ancillary mammals during 4 ship cruises to the Antarctic, April-September 2001 and 2002. General survey area includes the inshore water bodies of Marguerite Bay and Crystal Sound and the continental margin seaward to the ~3000 meter contour on the western side of the Antarctic Peninsula. Birds and mammals identified to the species level. Behavior patterns recorded. Environmental conditions during the bird observations are contained in a supporting file "bird_effort".
