In order to improve the survival rate of afforested species in saline–alkali and semi-arid areas, field trial in three sites in Heilongjiang Province of 9-year-old TaLEA transgenic P.simonii × nigra were investigated. The collected tree height and DBH data were investigated by using analysis of variance and multi-site joint analysis. Fresh young leaves of the transgenic lines were extracted and sent to genome resequence. Then we investigated stability of exogenous genes and position of T-DNA insertion. The results suggested that transgenic hybrid poplars of 9-year-old TaLEA lines showed adaptation to drought and saline–alkali conditions. The exogenous gene was expressed normally, and the T-DNA insertion sites were identified on different chromosomes. This datasets contain data of height and DBH of 9-year-old TaLEA transgenic P.simonii × nigra and the results of molecular detection and T-DNA insertion site identification, which can provide reference of testing transgenic trees for future forest production.Five TIF images in the first version of this dataset (V1) can't be previewed online. To facilitate preview and download, the second version of the dataset (V2) changes the image format to JPG, and splits one of the large images.
