This paper based collection of records relating to Prestige Limited includes: personal papers of George Foletta, particularly correspondence relating to his membership of textile industry associations, notably the Australian Industries Development Association and the Federal Clothing and Textile Advisory Council 1946-1950; material for preparation of his posthumously published "The Foletta Story"; minutes 1920-1937; reports 1923, 1942-1968; correspondence 1922-1952; accounts 1921-1950.
Prestige Limited was established in 1920 as the Atlas Knitting and Spinning Mill Pty Ltd, the company was renamed Prestige Ltd 1922 and manufactured hosiery and lingerie. It was taken over by Holeproof in 1968. One of its founders, George Foletta, became a prominent lobbyist in the textile industry's effort to retain tariff protection.
