Mouse hair follicles have distinct inter-tissue interactions between epidermis and mesenchymal tissues, such as arrector pili muscles, sensory nerves and dermal papilla fibroblasts. To understand these interaction-specific microenvironments, epidermal and dermal cell populations were isolated using different eGFP reporter mouse lines by FACS and their transcriptome data was obtained by RNA sequencing.
