Samples were collected from the regional-scale groundwater system known as the Death Valley Regional Flow System (DVRFS). Wells and springs, comprising thirty-six locations, were sampled throughout the DVRFS encompassing three major groundwater basins: Pahute Mesa-Oasis Valley (PMOV), Ash Meadows (AM), and Alkali Flat-Furnace Creek Ranch (AFFCR). Purged well samples were generally obtained via high-volume pumping from screened intervals at 0.5 to 1116 meters below land surface associated with fractured Tertiary volcanics, Paleozoic carbonates, or alluvium derived from these host materials. This data represents the 16S rRNA amplicon sequences.
