Gut microbiome relation to synovial inflammation and osteoarthritis in obesity

Recent studies in mice have suggested that joint degeneration in obesity-associated osteoarthritis originates with an altered gut microbiome and increased inflammation in the joints and throughout the body. This study aims to identify the role of the gut microbiome in development of osteoarthritis.
