Biochar impact on anaerobic digestion of synthetic human excreta from two batches

This study aimed to investigate the potential of using faecal sludge-derived biochar as an additive to facilitate degradation in wet pit latrine conditions by assessing AD performance of synthetic human excreta under laboratory conditions. Three anaerobic digestion bathes have been conducted for experiment and microbial communities shifts from two of the batches were explored to understand the impact of biochar addition.
