Change in online travel searches worldwide 2020, by segment

Due to the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on the travel industry, online travel-related searches worldwide decreased significantly in 2020 over the previous year. On March 15, 2020, online searches related to the segment of adventure travel dropped by 44 percent when compared to 2019. During the following months, this gradually improved. On of December 27, 2020, online adventure travel searches recorded a 14 percent drop over 2019.
