资源简介:
The Irvine Lott Site (22SM723) contains evidence of at least six distinct occupations.
Seven highly decorated Marksville sherds were noted during survey. Two ceramic pottery
sherds and the living floor beneath these sherds were examined for pollen, phytoliths, and/or
starch in an effort to both identify foods that might have been processed or stored in the vessel
and garner information concerning activities on this surface. This vessel is associated with the
Marksville (Hopewell) culture of the Middle Woodland Period, approximately 100 BC to 300 AD.
The site is situated on a terrace remnant in the floodplain of Caney Creek (McClung 2004) and
within 100 meters of the creek.
