Benthic habitat mapping data from Frobisher Bay, 2016

Recent anthropogenic development around Iqaluit, NU, has likely impacted the surrounding seabed of Frobisher Bay; there is very little baseline data on the seabed (benthic) ecology in the bay. Commercial and subsistence fisheries, terrestrial mining, increased marine traffic, and infrastructure development are all occurring around the city of Iqaluit, and are known to impact benthic habitats. The benthic habitat mapping portion of the Integrated Marine Geoscience to Guide Environmental Impact Assessment and Sustainable Development in Frobisher Bay project aims to gather data that will provide information on current baseline ecological and geological conditions in Frobisher Bay.
