6 MIIB inhibits adhesion turnover. Time-lapse of a CHO.K1 cell cotransfected with very low levels of GFP-MIIB (myosin IIB, green) and paxillin (magenta). Note that adhesions adjacent to MIIB-containing bundles do not disassemble (representative adhesions are marked with yellow arrowheads). Total internal reflection fluorescence (TIRF) images were acquired on an inverted microscope (IX70; Olympus) with a 1.45 NA (oil) Plan-Apochromat 60× TIRFM objective lens. Images were acquired with a charge-coupled device (CCD) camera (Retiga Exi; Qimaging). This movie corresponds to Fig. 5 D and video 6 in J Cell Biol 2011 193:381-396.
