Replication Data for : Characterizing the magnetic signal generated in the magnetosphere from 1996 to 2024 using ground geomagnetic data

This dataset provides hourly descriptions of the magnetospheric and induced fields at Earth's surface up to a spatial resolution of spherical harmonic (SH) degree 6 during geomagnetically quiet times (-30 nT < Dst < 30 nT) from 1 January 1996 to 30 October 2024. These descriptions are modeled based on observatory magnetic vector measurements, which are particularly well suited for characterizing the time variations of large-spatial-scale magnetospheric signals and for highlighting transient external magnetic field phenomena.
