资源简介:
In this study, we examined correlations between constitutive defenses and their inducibility in maritime pine (<i>Pinus pinaster</i>) seedlings, as well as their contingency on soil resource availability, specifically phosphorus—a limiting nutrient in coastal sites where this species grows in Galicia (Northwestern Spain). To achieve this, we conducted a greenhouse experiment with 33 half-sib pine families, for which we factorially manipulated defense induction (by applying jasmonic acid) and soil phosphorus availability. We focused on two key defensive traits in pines, non-volatile resin in stem and total phenolics in needles
