Virginia Springs Database - 2023

This file geodatabase contains three datasets describing the locations of natural springs throughout the commonwealth inventoried by DEQ staff, its predecessor agency, and several other state, federal, and other contributors. The database is a combination of modern and historical sources and contains site attributes, measured field parameters, and water chemistry for a subset of springs in the database where available. Current coverage is known to be poor in many areas of the state and cannot replace site specific inventorying or receptor surveys. Efforts have been made to improve the locational accuracy of springs inventoried in the database but several still have unverified locations.
