资源简介:
Site CA-SDI-20130, a prehistoric habitation site, is located in San Diego County along the coast between the community of La Jolla and the Scripps Institute of Oceanography (Pigniolo, et al. 2009). The site has been heavily disturbed by modern development and although its true extent is currently an estimate, the original boundary is believed to include an area near the Pacific shore line on a natural ridge representing a Pleistocene sand bar adjacent to an estuary. Artifacts, a sparse midden deposit, and human burials dating between 6300 and 1700 BP have been associated with the site (Pigniolo, et al. 2009). Sediment samples from two soil columns exposed in two units at the site were submitted for pollen and macrofloral analysis, and several botanic samples also were submitted for identification. Results of pollen and macrofloral analyses provides information on vegetation at and around the site as well as suggests environmental changes associated with climate and land use.
