A large number of researches suggested that the maternal gut microbiota during gestation was involved in the regulation of sow reproductive performance. However, there is litter literature available about whether the composition of gut microbiota during gestation is responsible for the improved sow reproductive performance.The early and late pregnancy are two critical stages for embryonic survival and development. In the present study, we aimed to investigate the relationship between sow productivity and gut microbiota on gestation 30 and 110 through comparing the fecal microbiota characteristics and metabolic status of high- and low-reproductive performance sows during gestation.
