Biodiversity and environmental data from the Brazilian semiarid region

Please refer to Maciel et al. (2025) in order obtain a full understanding of the process involved in the building of this database. The database includes a wide range of crucial data for plant species analysis and modeling, including species growth forms, climate variable, releif and soil characteristics. The data includes ocorrences of 1,123 plant species acroos Brazilian semiarid. This species list was obtained from a search of DATAPLAMT (www.dataplamt.org.br) in March 2023. The climate variables includes: annual mean temperature, isothermality, temperature annual range, annual precipitation, precipitation seasonality, water vapor pressure and solar radiation. In addition, soil characteristics obtained from the Regridded Harmonised World Soil Database v1.2 are provided. Soil properties include soil organic carbon content (T_OC), clay fraction (T_CLAY), sand fraction (T_SAND), silt fraction (T_SILT), gravel content (T_GRAVEL), soil acidity, measured by pH (T_PH_H20), and cation exchange capacity (T_CEC). All the environmental variables are in 5 km2 resolution and ready to be run in biomod2. More detailed can be found in the metadata table and in the article referenced below.
