Each volume is a register of seamen's employment made on board the ship on which they were employed. Entries show registration number (in 5/503 only), date when engaged, date when registered, name of seaman, name of vessel, description, capacity, last ship, where bound, and master's or owner's name. Volume 5/508 records in addition, age and birthplace of each seaman(5/503-08). 6 vols.
