In mammalian germ cells, meiosis is initiated in response to retinoic acid (RA), which induces the expression of Stra8 and its binding partner MEIOSIN. To study meiotic initiation , transcriptomes of whole testes were compared between WT, Stra8 KO and Meiosis KO by RNA-seq. ChIP-seq were done to identify MEIOSIN binding sites on mouse genome.
