Geotechnical Site Investigations after February 6, 2023 Turkiye Earthquake Sequence, in Geotechnical Engineering and Geo-Sciences Response to the February 6, 2023 Turkiye Earthquake Sequence

As a follow-on to the GEER Association reconnaissance activities, targeted site investigations were performed at specific locations in the regions affected by the two large earthquakes in Türkiye on February 6, 2023. These events caused devastating structural collapses, infrastructure damage, widespread liquefaction, and surface fault rupture. The site investigation efforts included Standard Penetration Tests (SPT), Seismic Cone Penetration Tests (sCPT), and Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW). In addition, disturbed soil samples were collected during the SPTs, and their index properties were determined through laboratory testing. The resulting data have been publicly shared via the DesignSafe Data Depot and the Next Generation Liquefaction (NGL) database.
