Dataset: Ecological Benefits of Active Coral Reef Restoration in Nusa Penida MPA, Bali, Indonesia

Our study provides insights into the ecological contributions of active coral restoration efforts within the Nusa Penida Marine Protected Area, Bali, Indonesia. The dataset includes results for the following parameters: fish abundance and diversity, benthic reef cover composition and structural complexity, and benthic pioneer organism settlement. The data were collected across three adjacent coral sites, each representing different ecological conditions: a natural reef site, a degraded rubble site and a restoration site with transplanted <i>Acropora pulchra</i>. The data were gathered using settlement tiles, the chain-and-tape method, and underwater photography and video.
