Screening of isolates capable of producing biosurfactants

Currently, microbial enhanced oil recovery (MEOR) is of great interest. One of the promising areas in this area is the use of biosurfactants. During this work, microorganisms with the ability to synthesize biosurfactants were screened, and the two most effective strains were assessed from the point of view of increasing oil production under model conditions on sand packed columns using cell-free culture supernatant of microbial isolates. These strains have genes for the synthesis of such types of biosurfactants as surfactin, fengycin, and bacillomycin.
