This dataset contains the location of any premises (Health and Safety Executive or local authority enforced) containing cooling towers or evaporative condensers in Bristol. The Notification of Cooling Towers and Evaporative Condensers Regulations (1992) came into force on 2nd November 1992.Bristol City Council record the information provided by the person in control of the premises in a register. This is to help the Council and the Health Protection Agency investigate community outbreaks of legionnaire's disease which have been linked to installations such as cooling towers and evaporative condensers.
