This study aims to name and describe a novel species of lactic acid bacteria. Phylogenetic analysis using partial 16S rRNA sequence showed that those strains are from the family Streptococcaceae and belonged to no previously known genera in this family. We also aim to report the comparative genomics of this novel species and the known closely-related species to reveal the taxonomy and adaptations of these novel species to plant-associated environments.
