Earth System Data and Information Management Program : NOAA-wide program development plan

Management of environmental data and information resources is becoming an increasingly visible and important issue for the scientific community. This is of particular importance to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), which routinely measures and collects large amounts of environmental data and information in its own work, and is also officially charged with maintaining environmental records for the Nation.
