Regional monthly cannabis use in Belgium 2001-2018

From 2001 to 2018, the rise of cannabis consumption in Belgium went hand in hand with a rise in consumption in its three regions. Over this period, the highest prevalence of monthly cannabis users was found in the region of Brussels-Capital. In 2001, over five percent of Belgians from this region had consumed cannabis during the last month, whereas in 2018, this figure rose to 8.2 percent. Cannabis consumption in Wallonia reached 4.5 percent in 2018, the figures of Flanders reached 3.6 percent.
