VPRS 15947 Local Land Board Record, and Correspondence Register

This series was used for a number of different purposes. In 1879 it was used to record cases for the consideration of Local Lands Boards in the Castlemaine and Dunolly and St Arnaud areas. Details given are the file number, any previous and subsequent entries with regard to the file, their name of the applicant, the locality and area of the land, the date of pegging (for a selection claim) and a summary of the minutes taken relating to the application.From 1898 to 1907 it was used as a correspondence register for correspondence relating to village settlement with the V number registration identifier. It was also used as a register of correspondence for the same time period for correspondence sent to and registered by the Correspondence Branch ('C' series). Another listing is of correspondence of the Forests Branch.It is not known whether this record was maintained at the central office or at a District Land Office.
