Dietary carbohydrate modulation of the gut microbiome

Dietary supplementation with microbial accessible carbohydrates (MAC) have a beneficial impact on health via mechanisms dependent on the gut microbiome. However, studies consistently show high variability in the microbial and health outcomes to diet interventions between individuals. In this study we investigated the ecological mechanisms that contribute to individual variability in responses to MAC.
