Curcuma longa transcriptome

Curcuma longa (Turmeric) is herbaceous plant known for various medicinal properties. The herb is known for the presence of curcuminoids but it also has other essential components called essential oils which are present in the leaves and in the rhizome. The synthesis of essential oils in the leaves during developmental stages is not well known and hence understanding how these oils are synthesized and what factors regulate their synthesis would be instrumental in enhancing essential oils yield.
