The poem, which begins on fol. 5^b in the usual way, is here preceded by a prose-preface on Hâtifî’s life and works, beginning, on fol. 1^b: ملاّ هاتفى جامى نامش عبدالله و خواهر زادۀ ملّا عبدالرّحمن جاميست در نظم و نثر الخ .
