This dataset supports the article: Phan, T.X.D., & Zuo, A. (2025). Towards Sustainable Food Consumption: A Household-Level Analysis of Home Cooking Behaviours in Urban Vietnam. Sustainable Development. https://doi.org/10.1002/sd.70383The dataset includes de-identified variables used to construct the Household Sustainable Home Cooking (HSHC) Index, which measures sustainability across eight behavioural dimensions: meal planning, purchasing, cooking ability, storage, eating patterns, handling leftovers, waste management, and use of eco-friendly products. Socio-demographic variables (e.g., education, occupation, and family composition) are also provided.This dataset enables replication of:-Composite index construction (equal-weighted and PCA-weighted approaches)-Robustness checks of index specifications-Cluster analysis identifying four household sustainability profiles: Food Management Leaders, Sustainable Diet Households, Planning and Leftover Strugglers, and Least Sustainable HouseholdsFull documentation of survey items, reverse-coded variables, index construction procedures (including formulas), weighting methods, PCA robustness checks, and cluster validation tests are provided in the Supporting Information (Appendices A–C) of the published article.All data have been fully de-identified in accordance with the approved human research ethics protocol.Researchers using this dataset are requested to cite the associated publication.
