Conflict-related Sexual and Gender-Based Violence GPT-4o Codebook

Conflict-Related SGBV GPT-4o Codebook The codebook explains the terms and methodological criteria used to train Generative AI tools to identify and analyse conflict-related SGBV media reports. It was developed using the detailed Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court definition of SGBV, which enables actors to document and report SGBV as crimes of international concern. Following the rules set out in the GPT-4o codebook, which can be replicated the dataset was compiled to observe all possible events reported as ‘SGBV’ during the period of study. The use of the codebook allows for comparison of Generative AI methods with manual coding of media reports on CRSGBV, both validating and potentially accelerating the identification and analysis of CRSGBV in real-time situations.
