ITS and 16S based soil microbiomes of alpine and montane grasslands of Northern Italy

Project ALSORES: Bulk soil microbiomes of soils with and without intact rhizospheres are sequenced targeting 16S- and ITS- rRNA within intracellular eDNA. Intracellular eDNA is eDNA that has been cleaned from extracellular DNA through repeated soil washing steps and is used to target intact cells only. The resulting microbial communities are compared to on-site measured total and heterotrophic soil respiration rates.
