Data and code for "Quasi-Fiscal Operations, External Imbalances and Statistical Opacity: Balance-of-Payments Evidence from the Kyrgyz Republic"

Replication data and code for the manuscript “Quasi-Fiscal Operations, External Imbalances and Statistical Opacity: Balance-of-Payments Evidence from the Kyrgyz Republic”. The package contains: (i) Python scripts that reproduce all tables and figures; (ii) derived CSV files built from public National Statistical Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic (NSC) foreign-trade data (HS 4-digit), National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic balance-of-payments tables and IMF balance-of-payments statistics; (iii) Figures 1–5 at 300 dpi; (iv) the published periodic financial statements of the state mortgage company (24 PDF files) with an index containing dates and SHA-256 checksums; and (v) section4_data.csv, the balance-sheet figures extracted from those statements. A README describes each file and how to rerun the analysis. Author identity is withheld during double-anonymous peer review.
