To investigate the purple peel formation mechanism in the Minhou wild banana (Musa itinerans), two libraries were constructed from the green part (GP) and purple part (PP) of peel in the late stage of fruit enlargement and were subjected to lncRNA-Seq using Illumina 2500 deep sequencing technology. A total of 33.51 Gb clean data were obtained by the transcriptome sequencing of GP and PP, up to 16.03Gb clean data each sample. The percentages of the bases with quality value greater than or equal to Q30 are more than 96.02%. These data will provide a lot of information for the future research of Musa plants, especially pigment-related research.
