On 05 January 2026, the service was activated following an EFAS early warning on flood risk in the area of Herzegovina, particularly in the upper catchment of the Neretva River (municipalities of Konjic and Kalinovik). Adverse weather conditions, including heavy snowfall, had already caused disruptions to transport and electricity supply in several affected areas. Copernicus EMS Rapid Mapping was requested to provide flood extent and damage assessment emergency mapping.
