Global Reservoir Dataset (GRD)

Global Reservoir Dataset (GRD) is a comprehensive dataset that maps the global extent of human-regulated reservoirs (≥0.01 km2), including 423,068 on-channel and 486,545 off-channel reservoirs, using high-resolution satellite imagery and deep learning techniques. Shapefile (.shp) fileds description: first_year: The year when the reservoir first appeared in the dataset, minimum year is 2000, maximum year is 2018. continent: The continent where the reservoir is located. lon: The longitude coordinate of the reservoir's centroid. lat: The latitude coordinate of the reservoir's centroid. area_km2: The surface area of the reservoir in square kilometers. chan_stat: Indicates whether the reservoir is on-channel (constructed on a river) or off-channel (not constructed on a river). source: The source of the reservoir data, either from this study or from the GeoDAR dataset.
