This high-value patent database for the biopharmaceutical industry mainly includes invention patents and utility model patents related to biopharmaceutical manufacturing from the global patent database. It has conducted retrieval and evaluation scoring on the patent data using proprietary algorithms, which helps to understand the intellectual property (IP) filing status and geographic layout of the biopharmaceutical industry. By comparing the patent data of enterprises in the biopharmaceutical industry, users can grasp the technological innovation capabilities of each enterprise; understanding the technological development trends and core technologies of the industry also helps enterprises avoid redundant R&D and intellectual property infringement. The data is based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), combining quantitative and qualitative methods starting from the patent valuation methodology. The index system divides patent value metrics into three first-level indicators: technical, legal, and economic value, with corresponding second-level indicators under each category. The technical value indicators include: number of independent claims, word count of the independent claim, remaining validity period (years), number of patent families, number of cited external patents, number of times cited by other patents, number of inventor contributors, and number of involved technical fields. The legal value indicators include: patent type, number of document pages, and number of received invalidation requests. The economic value indicators include: number of transfers, number of licensing activities, number of pledge financing cases, patent award score, and customs recordation score. A three-dimensional matrix is established based on the first-level and second-level indicators. The required data indicators for patent evaluation are obtained through patent interface data. The 1-9 scaling method (with 1 being the lowest score and 9 being the highest) is adopted to calculate the weight of each indicator, and the scores of individual indicators are weighted using these weights. The sum of all weighted indicator scores constitutes the total patent score. Patents are classified into three categories based on their total scores: high-value patents (80-100), important patents (60-80), and general patents (below 60). This database provides technical references and guidance for R&D personnel of biopharmaceutical enterprises, and supports R&D decision-making for companies.
