The present invention relates to a heat treatment device intended to be associated with a container (3) loaded with logs， comprising a pipe (1) for supplying pressurized steam. Said heat treatment device is particular in that it comprises at least one， preferably two， tube (2) substantially rectilinear， provided with a plurality of openings distributed over its length and on its circumference， said at least one tube (2) being intended to be introduced into said container (3) from the rear， and to be supplied by said pressurized steam. The present invention also relates to a method which can be implemented by means of a device according to the invention.
