Mesenchymal Stem Cell Extracellular Vesicles Ameliorate Radiation-caused Dry Mouth

Locally injected extracellular vesicles from iPS cell derived mesenchymal stem cells (iEVs) ameliorated long-term dry mouth, a common side effect of radiation therapy for head and neck cancer. 8-10 weeks old male C57BL/6 mice received no treatment (NT) or 15 Gy irradiation (IR) at submandibular gland (SMG) region. Since day 1 after IR, some mice received weekly intra-SMG treatment of iEVs. SMGs were collected at 4 or 30 days after IR for RNA sequencing.
