资源简介:
Biological nitrogen fixation is a key process for agriculture sustainability and it is particularly important in legumes as common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), that represents the most important source of protein for the low-income population of South America, Africa and some Asian countries. Rhizobium leucaenae is one of the rhizobial species capable of nodulating and fixing nitrogen with common bean. It is abundantly found in South America and it is particularly important for its high tolerance of environmental stresses. The type strain of R. leucaenae is CFN 299. The genomic data of the type strain of R. leucaenae is important for taxonomic and phylogenetic studies, as well as to understand the successful performance of the symbiont under tropical stressing conditions.
