NPS Open Climate Data

Pre-processed climate time series, trend tests, and boundary data for all 63 US National Parks. Derived from DAYMET v4 and ERA5-Land via Google Earth Engine (reduceRegion over park boundaries), with park boundaries from USGS PAD-US 4.1. Includes: daily gridded climate records (CSV, gzipped), park boundary polygons (GeoJSON, PAD-US 4.1 proclamation boundaries dissolved per park, simplified to 50 m, WGS84), and per-park JSON summaries with annual/seasonal series, Mann-Kendall / Theil-Sen trends, anomalies, and climate stripes. Temperatures stored in °C (SI). Note: American Samoa, Dry Tortugas, and Virgin Islands fall outside land-grid coverage and are ERA5-Land only. Cite as: Britton, A., & Pritchard, I. (2026).
