coal gangue surfaces

This BioProject contains 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing data (V4 region, Illumina paired end 250 bp) from an engineered reclamation system at a coal gangue dump in Yangquan, Shanxi Province, China. Samples were collected in October 2025 from paired profile pits within the same restoration unit under root-present and root absent conditions. The dataset includes topsoil, mixed layer soil matrix, mixed layer coal gangue surface materials, and deep coal gangue. These data were generated to evaluate how root influence at the gangue soil interface relates to bacterial community structure and predicted functional potential during coal gangue soilization under ecological restoration.
